Malaysia Aims to Become a Global Muslim Tourism Hub
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi emphasized that Malaysia must strengthen its position as a primary hub for Muslim tourism globally. He stated that the country has significant potential to attract more tourists from around the world by offering Muslim-friendly facilities.
According to him, the Muslim tourism industry, or 'halal tourism,' is growing rapidly on an international scale. Malaysia is seen as a top destination of choice due to its world-recognized halal management system and complete infrastructure facilities tailored to the needs of Muslim tourists.
To achieve this goal, cooperation between the government and tourism industry players must be enhanced. Key focus areas include promoting unique travel packages, improving service quality in hotels, and ensuring the provision of high-quality halal food at all tourist destinations.
Furthermore, the use of digital technology will be optimized to make it easier for tourists to obtain information regarding Muslim-friendly locations in Malaysia. This step is expected to increase the number of foreign tourist arrivals, thereby contributing to the country's economic growth.
In conclusion, the aspiration to become a global Muslim tourism hub is a strategic move for Malaysia. With strong support from various parties, Malaysia is optimistic about remaining a preferred destination that offers a comfortable, safe, and Islamic-value-based travel experience.
