Arau MP Proposes Dewan Rakyat Manage Fund Allocations
Arau Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, recently proposed that the management of fund allocations for Members of Parliament be handed over to the Dewan Rakyat. He believes that this step is essential to ensure that the fund distribution process is conducted more transparently and systematically.
According to Shahidan, the Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat is the most suitable individual to oversee such distributions. He emphasized that intervention by Parliament could guarantee fair and equitable treatment for all Members of Parliament, regardless of their political party background.
This proposal arises as an effort to enhance integrity in the management of public funds provided to elected representatives. By placing this responsibility under the supervision of the Dewan Rakyat, it is expected to reduce disputes regarding the inequality of allocations between the government and the opposition.
However, this proposal is still in the early stages of discussion. The government and other politicians are expected to examine the proposal to determine its compatibility with existing regulations in the Malaysian Parliament.
In conclusion, the issue of fund allocation is a significant topic in the effort to empower the parliamentary institution in Malaysia. The public is now awaiting further feedback from the authorities on whether this change to the fund management system will be implemented in the future.
