Catsoterra Successfully Helps Control Stray Cat Population in Penang
An animal welfare organization in Penang, Catsoterra, is now gaining widespread attention for their tireless efforts in addressing the issue of stray cats. Since its inception, this organization has played a crucial role in reducing the number of street cats through a systematic neutering program.
To date, Catsoterra has successfully assisted in the neutering process for nearly 800 cats across the state. This initiative is carried out to ensure that the stray cat population can be controlled in a more humane and effective manner.
In addition, the organization has also provided subsidies totaling more than RM50,000 for 'TNR' (Trap, Neuter, Release) services. This financial assistance greatly helps cat owners or animal rescuers who are unable to afford the high costs of veterinary surgery.
The efforts made by Catsoterra have received positive support from the local community. This step not only helps reduce the problem of stray cats in residential areas but also raises public awareness about the importance of looking after the welfare of pets.
Overall, initiatives like this prove that collaboration between non-governmental organizations and the community can bring about significant change. It is hoped that more parties will come forward to support this noble cause for the well-being of animals in Malaysia.
