Ronaldo's escape from Austria: Camp canceled after fan chaos and bad weather

The training camp of the Saudi Al-Nassr Club, led by star Cristiano Ronaldo in the Austrian city of Salzburg, witnessed a state of chaos, which ended with the sudden cancellation of the camp.

At first, there was a tense atmosphere due to the fans chasing Ronaldo (40 years old) at the team's hotel "Gut Brandlhof". Hundreds gathered around the hotel in an attempt to see the star up close, but things got out of control when some children knocked on Ronaldo's suite door several times. The Portuguese star opened the door angrily and threatened the unwanted guests with calling the police.

Hotel staff and security personnel found it difficult to deal with the large crowds. With increasing pressure, Al-Nasr Club decided to end the camp ahead of schedule. Organizers announced that the official reason for the cancellation was the continued rainfall, and the match scheduled for August 2 against Al-Ahli Dubai was also canceled.

Henning Reisman, the CEO of "Onside" responsible for organizing the camp, explained to "Sky" that the ticket prices will be fully refunded in the same original payment method.

Ronaldo and his team are scheduled to leave for Portugal on Wednesday evening after playing a friendly match against Toulouse in the city of Grodig, where the second phase of preparations for the season will begin.

Borussia Dortmund is expected to start its training camp at the same hotel starting next Monday until August 9.

It is noted that Ronaldo has renewed his contract with Al Nassr until 2027, for a huge annual salary of 208 million euros. The new season will kick off with a match between Al Nassr and Al Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup on August 19.
