The discovery of a mother and her 10-year-old daughter dead inside freezers in Innsbruck
A 34-year-old Syrian woman and her 10-year-old daughter, missing since July 2024, were found dead inside freezers last Friday in an apartment in Innsbruck. This discovery has prompted local authorities to launch an active investigation into a murder.
The Tyrol State Criminal Police and the Innsbruck Public Prosecutor's Office are investigating the case. According to officials, the bodies were hidden behind a brick wall, and the case had been ongoing for several months without any clear leads.
The local brothers, aged 53 and 55, are under investigation for murder. The two men have been detained since June, one in Innsbruck and the other in Salzburg, and are suspected of being linked to the death of the mother and child.
Reports indicate that the mother and daughter were last seen in Düsseldorf from July 13 to 20, 2024. It is alleged that the 55-year-old suspect drove them to his apartment in Innsbruck, and no trace of them has been known since then until the discovery.
State Police Director Helmut Tomac confirmed that the mother had recently finished her work to embark on a planned trip to Turkey and was in a relationship with a coworker, who is now considered a suspect. Relatives reported their disappearance on June 25, 2024, and there has been no activity on the woman's accounts during her disappearance.
