Dutch companies to make Malaysian airports more sustainable
Dutch companies will collaborate intensively over the next three years to make airports in Malaysia more sustainable. This is being carried out through a new project by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). The goal of this collaboration is to share Dutch knowledge of green technology and innovation with the aviation sector in Malaysia.
The project is part of the 'Partners for International Business' (PIB) program. In this program, groups of companies and the Dutch government work together to strengthen their position abroad. For this specific project, the focus is on the development of modern, environmentally friendly airports that are ready for the future.
Malaysia wants to modernize its aviation sector and has a significant need for sustainable solutions. Dutch companies are known worldwide for their expertise in areas such as smart logistics, sustainable construction, and energy-efficient systems. Through this collaboration, Dutch entrepreneurs can apply their techniques to a large international market in Southeast Asia.
Companies specializing in, for example, solar energy, airport waste management, or efficient passenger flows can still join this cluster. The RVO supports these companies by establishing contacts with the Malaysian government and key local partners. This makes it easier for smaller companies to do business in a distant country.
The collaboration will last for a total of three years and is an important step for the Dutch export of green technology. In doing so, the Netherlands not only contributes to a better environment abroad but also creates new economic opportunities for its own companies. The project demonstrates that international cooperation is essential for a sustainable future.
