Significant delays on the road due to accident on the A10
Road users in the Amsterdam region should expect significant delays today. An accident on the A10 ring road has caused major traffic problems heading into the capital.
Due to the accident, traffic flow on the A1 towards Amsterdam has been severely disrupted. Motorists coming from that direction should expect delays that could reach nearly an hour. Emergency services are on-site to handle the situation.
In addition to the problems on the A1, traffic from the Zaanstreek area is also at a standstill. Traffic jams on surrounding roads are growing rapidly as many drivers try to avoid the A10. This is resulting in a busy morning rush hour on the road network around Amsterdam.
It is currently not yet known how long the cleanup operations will take. Traffic information services are advising road users to keep a close eye on current traffic updates and to choose an alternative route if possible.
