New handheld for retro gamers: the Anbernic RG DS Plus
For fans of classic video games, there is good news. The company Anbernic has released the RG DS Plus, a new portable game console specifically designed for playing Nintendo DS games. The device is the successor to the popular RG DS and is aimed at retro gaming fans who want to relive their old favorites.
The most striking feature of the RG DS Plus is its two 4.3-inch screens. This setup is essential for emulating Nintendo DS games, as the original system also utilized two screens. Thanks to this hardware, users can play their games in original quality, which the manufacturer describes as 'pixel-perfect' emulation.
Setting up the new device does require some time and attention from the user. According to the manual, thirteen different steps are needed to fully prepare the handheld for use. Users should account for an installation time of approximately ninety minutes before they can truly get started with their collection.
Although the device targets a specific niche, the release shows that there is still a lot of interest in classic game consoles. The RG DS Plus offers a modern way to play old games on hardware built specifically for this purpose. Those interested can now purchase the device to play their favorite retro titles on the go again.
