Free event helps expats understand Dutch healthcare
For many expats in the Netherlands, the healthcare system is a complicated puzzle. To support them, a free event will soon be organized that is entirely dedicated to Dutch healthcare. The goal is to guide foreigners through the rules, insurance, and how the general practitioner (GP) system works.
The Dutch healthcare system often differs significantly from systems in other countries. For example, many newcomers do not know how to register with a GP or when they are allowed to visit a specialist at a hospital. During the event, participants will receive practical information and have the opportunity to ask all their questions to experts.
In addition to the basic rules, attention will also be given to mandatory health insurance. Choosing the right policy can be a challenge for expats due to the many options and the Dutch terminology. During the meeting, it will be explained what to look for when taking out insurance and exactly how the excess (eigen risico) works.
The organization hopes that this event will contribute to a better integration of expats into Dutch society. By lowering the threshold and providing clear information, they will feel at home faster and know exactly what to do if they need medical help.
Those interested can register for the meeting via the organization's website. The event is a valuable opportunity for anyone who wants to learn more about how healthcare is organized in the Netherlands.
