Netherlands and China aim to improve trade relationship
The relationship between the Netherlands and China has been under pressure lately, but both countries are now looking for ways to improve trade. China has indicated that it wants to strengthen cooperation with the Netherlands. Especially in the field of technology and the production of computer chips, a good relationship is very important for both countries.
The Chinese government has stated that it hopes the Netherlands will help keep the supply of chips stable. There have been tensions recently, for example regarding the company Nexperia. Nevertheless, China sees many opportunities for cooperation in innovation and advanced manufacturing. Meanwhile, Europe is trying to find a balance in trade with China to become less dependent.
In addition to international politics, there is also plenty of news from the Dutch business community itself. The Amsterdam Business Awards were recently presented in Amsterdam. Construction company Gebr. van 't Hek won the sixteenth edition of this prize. The company Van Vliet also received an award, winning the Amsterdam International Business Award for their strong international position in the region.
There are also significant changes at major companies in the Netherlands. Paint manufacturer AkzoNobel has appointed Francis Senft as the new sales manager for the Dutch market. Furthermore, there is news about an acquisition in the tech sector: the company Bechtle is acquiring the Dutch ICT service provider Interforce. These companies aim to fully merge by 2027.
Finally, Dutch entrepreneurs are increasingly looking across the border for new opportunities. According to the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), there are currently many opportunities in South Africa. Due to the global political situation, markets in Africa are becoming increasingly interesting for Dutch companies looking to grow internationally.
