Free event helps expats in Eindhoven with Dutch healthcare
Many expats in the Netherlands sometimes find it difficult to navigate the Dutch healthcare system. To support them, the city of Eindhoven is soon organizing a special event called 'Healthy Expats in Eindhoven'. This initiative is intended to better inform international residents about how they can stay healthy and where they can go for medical help.
The event focuses on various important topics. Participants will receive information about preventive healthcare, which means looking at how to prevent diseases before they occur. There will also be attention given to a healthy lifestyle, well-being, and the importance of a healthy weight.
In addition to general health tips, visitors will receive an explanation of how healthcare works in the Netherlands. The Dutch system works differently than in many other countries, for example, due to the central role of the general practitioner (GP). During the session, expats can ask questions to experts and learn how they can make optimal use of the available healthcare services.
This event is a valuable opportunity for the international community in Eindhoven to gain more confidence in their health choices. By sharing knowledge, the organization hopes that expats will feel at home more quickly and be better able to take care of themselves during their stay in the Netherlands.
