The Netherlands to get its own AI Cloud for extra computing power
A new platform for artificial intelligence (AI) is coming to the Netherlands. The company VOLT has announced that they will build the "Dutch AI Cloud." They are doing this in collaboration with the well-known technology companies Dell and NorthC. The platform is scheduled to go live officially in October 2026.
The AI Cloud is specifically designed for companies that require significant computing power. This is achieved using GPUs, which are powerful chips necessary for complex calculations. With this technology, companies can develop and test their own AI systems more quickly and efficiently.
The collaboration between the three companies is strategic. Dell provides the necessary hardware, while NorthC provides the secure locations where the servers are housed. Because these servers are physically located in the Netherlands, data remains within national borders. This is a significant advantage for the privacy and digital security of Dutch organizations.
Currently, many organizations are still dependent on major tech companies from the United States for their AI services. By building its own Dutch AI Cloud, the Netherlands secures its own place in the global technology market. This strengthens the position of the Netherlands as a hub for innovation and digital growth.
Although it will be some time before the platform is ready, the announcement is a major step forward. In the coming years, companies can prepare for the use of this new local service. The project demonstrates that the Netherlands is seriously investing in the future of artificial intelligence.
