New asylum decision deadlines: 6 months standard, 3 months accelerated
New decision deadlines are now in force for asylum seekers in the Netherlands. Under rules that took effect on 12 June 2026, applicants should normally receive a decision within six months, or within three months under the accelerated procedure.
The aim is to give people clarity about their right to stay more quickly.
