Ziggo introduces ultra-fast 8 Gbit/s internet in Amsterdam and Utrecht
Internet provider Ziggo has announced that they are beginning the sale of extremely fast internet in the Netherlands. Customers in Amsterdam and Utrecht can now choose a connection with speeds of up to 8 Gbit/s. This is a major step forward for the company's network, which previously offered lower speeds.
The new service utilizes the latest technologies in the cable network. With this speed, users can download and upload files much faster. The network is also more stable when multiple devices are connected simultaneously, such as smart TVs, computers, and game consoles.
Ziggo is deliberately choosing Amsterdam and Utrecht as the first cities for this rollout. These are areas where there is high demand for fast digital connections from both private individuals and businesses. With this, the company aims to compete with other providers that already offer fiber-optic networks in these regions.
It is not yet known when the rest of the Netherlands will be able to use these high internet speeds. Ziggo indicates that they will continue to improve the network step-by-step in the coming years. For the time being, residents outside of the two mentioned cities will have to be patient before they can expect this upgrade.
