Summer-like warmth next week - possible thunderstorm warning for Thursday
After a cool and showery period, the weather will turn next week. The KNMI expects dry weather with sunny spells and a transition to summer-like temperatures. From Wednesday onwards, the chance of thunderstorms increases.
THE FORECAST PER DAY
Monday, August 24: sunny spells, maximum 22 degrees, almost no chance of precipitation.
Tuesday, August 25: sunny, maximum 24 degrees.
Wednesday, August 26: 24 to 27 degrees, heavily clouded with a chance of thunderstorms and moderate rain. 50 percent chance of precipitation.
Thursday, August 27: 25 to 28 degrees, thunderstorms with heavy rain. 80 percent chance of precipitation, 4 to 12 millimeters of rain. The KNMI is taking a possible warning into account for this day.
Friday, August 28: cooler, around 22 degrees, again a chance of thunderstorms and rain.
WHAT THIS MEANS
Thursday is the day to keep an eye on. A possible warning means that the KNMI may issue a code yellow for thunderstorms. Code yellow can involve water nuisance, slippery roads, and limited visibility.
Take this into account if you have to travel or work outside that day. Those who work in construction, agriculture and horticulture, or delivery will notice both the heat and the showers first.
THE UNCERTAINTY IS STILL HIGH
Weather models vary widely for next week - from tropical values to barely 20 degrees. So do not be surprised if the temperature in your weather app changes over the coming days.
