Province invests 150 million euros in care housing
The province of North Brabant is allocating 150 million euros for a new investment fund. This money is intended for the development of special homes for people who require home care. The initiative stems from the growing need for suitable living space for the elderly and people with care needs.
Due to the aging population and the changing care sector, more and more people are continuing to live independently for longer. This puts significant pressure on the housing market, as many current homes are not suitable for medical equipment or daily care. With this fund, the province aims to accelerate the construction of life-cycle-proof homes.
The plan focuses not only on building new houses but also on adapting existing buildings. This should make it easier for those in need of care to continue living in their own familiar environment, rather than moving to an institution.
The 150 million euro investment is expected to provide a major boost to the region in the coming years. The executive board hopes that this will improve the quality of life for vulnerable residents and better prepare the care sector in Brabant for the future.
