Defence is now the largest job poster in the Netherlands
For the first time, the Ministry of Defence tops the list of organizations with the most job vacancies in the Netherlands. This is evident from recent figures on the Dutch labor market. Never before has the military had as many job openings as it does right now.
There are several reasons for this striking increase. The global security situation has changed significantly in recent years, leading the Dutch government to invest more in the armed forces. Additionally, many experienced employees are retiring, which is freeing up many new positions.
These vacancies are not just for soldiers working in the field. Defence is also looking for a lot of technical personnel, IT specialists, and logistics staff. People with ICT knowledge are particularly in demand, as technology plays an increasingly important role in modern defense tasks.
In the past, other large organizations, such as the police or major commercial companies, often topped the list of job posters. The fact that Defence is now number one shows how great the challenge is to find enough personnel in a time of labor market shortages.
To fill all these positions, Defence continues to invest in major recruitment campaigns to attract both young people and professionals. It is an important development for Dutch security.
