RIVM warns of disinformation as a threat to public health
The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) is warning of new dangers that could harm public health in the Netherlands. According to experts, disinformation and declining international cooperation pose major risks to the health of the population.
Disinformation, or the spreading of incorrect information, makes it more difficult for citizens to make reliable choices about their health. When people follow incorrect medical advice or doubt scientific facts, this can lead to dangerous situations for both individuals and society as a whole.
In addition, the RIVM points to the increasing pressure on international cooperation. Many health problems, such as infectious diseases, do not stop at national borders. To be able to respond effectively to outbreaks or other health crises, it is essential that countries continue to work closely together and exchange information.
The experts emphasize that these developments are putting pressure on the resilience of the Dutch healthcare system. According to them, it is important that more attention is paid to combating incorrect information and strengthening international ties in order to better protect everyone's health.
