The battle for the cloud market: AWS, Azure, and Google continue to grow
The global cloud services market continues to grow at a rapid pace. Major tech companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Google are competing fiercely for customers who want to store their data and software online. For many Dutch companies and organizations that rely on this digital infrastructure, it is important to see how the balance between these providers is changing.
At the moment, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is still the largest player in the market with a 28 percent market share. Microsoft Azure follows in second place with 21 percent, while Google Cloud has a 14 percent share. These three companies dominate the sector and largely determine how companies worldwide set up their IT systems.
Although AWS is the largest, the growth figures show an interesting trend. Microsoft Azure is showing strong growth in the most recent quarter. This indicates that the market is still very much in flux and that competition between the three tech giants is increasing. For Dutch companies, this means there is more choice and that services continue to evolve.
The influence of these cloud services is significant, as they form the foundation for many modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence and large databases. The battle between AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud is likely to ensure that prices and the quality of services remain competitive. It is therefore a development that will remain of great importance to the Dutch business market in the coming years.
