The Netherlands prepares for a special solar eclipse in August
On August 12, residents of the Netherlands will be able to witness a special natural phenomenon. The country is preparing for the largest solar eclipse in decades. During this event, the moon will move in front of the sun, causing the light on Earth to change temporarily.
The natural phenomenon will begin in the early evening, around 7:15 PM. The eclipse will reach its peak around 8:11 PM. After that, the sun will slowly emerge again until the phenomenon ends around 9:00 PM. This coincides with the time of sunset.
Astronomers emphasize that it is important to be careful when looking at the sun. It is not safe to look directly at the sun with the naked eye, even during an eclipse. People who want to view the phenomenon are advised to use special eclipse glasses to prevent eye damage.
Interest in this event is high. Many observatories in the Netherlands are organizing special gatherings to give people the chance to follow the solar eclipse in a safe way. It is expected that many Dutch people will go outside on August 12 to admire this rare spectacle.
