New $526 Million Healthcare Facility Planned for Auckland’s North Shore
A major healthcare expansion is coming to Auckland’s North Shore. Evolution Healthcare, a private medical provider, has announced a $526 million investment plan to transform a large office building at Smales Farm in Takapuna into a modern medical facility.
The project involves leasing nearly half of the building that was previously occupied by the telecommunications company One NZ. This site will be converted into a high-tech medical hub, significantly increasing the availability of private healthcare services in the region.
A key feature of the new development will be the addition of six state-of-the-art operating theatres. These facilities are designed to help meet the growing demand for surgical procedures in the Auckland area, providing patients with faster access to medical care.
This redevelopment is part of a broader trend of repurposing commercial office spaces for essential community services. By moving into the Smales Farm business park, Evolution Healthcare aims to create a central location that is easily accessible for patients and medical staff alike.
The project represents a significant boost to the local economy and healthcare infrastructure. Construction is expected to begin soon, marking a major change for the Takapuna business district as it shifts to accommodate more health-focused services.
