New Aviation Training Hub Opens in Hamilton
A new aviation engineering training hub has officially launched in Hamilton. This project is a partnership between the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) and NZAero, aiming to provide high-quality education for future aircraft engineers.
NMIT has a long history in this field, having delivered aviation engineering education for more than 20 years. The institution is recognized as a Civil Aviation Authority-approved Part 147 training provider, which means it meets strict national standards for technical training.
By opening this new facility in Hamilton, NMIT and NZAero hope to make aviation training more accessible to students in the North Island. The hub will focus on practical skills, preparing graduates to maintain and repair aircraft in a growing industry.
This development is expected to support the local aviation sector by creating a steady pipeline of skilled workers. As the demand for aviation maintenance continues to rise, this partnership provides a vital opportunity for students looking to start a career in engineering.
