Rotorua Tech Academy Receives Major Funding Boost
A technology training organisation based in Rotorua has received a significant financial boost of $660,000. The academy focuses on helping local students who are struggling in the traditional school system to re-engage with their education through technology.
This funding is expected to support the organisation’s ongoing efforts to provide practical skills to young people. By offering a different approach to learning, the academy helps students find new motivation and confidence in their academic journeys.
Many students who attend the academy have previously found it difficult to succeed in mainstream classrooms. The programme uses technology as a tool to make learning more interesting and relevant to the modern job market.
Staff at the organisation expressed excitement about the news, describing themselves as "stoked" to receive the support. The investment will allow them to continue their work and reach more students who need extra help to stay on track.
This funding marks a positive step for youth development in the Rotorua region. By investing in these students, the community hopes to provide them with a better path toward future employment and success.
