Snow Sports NZ Announces New Alpine Ski Team for 2026/27 Season
Snow Sports NZ has officially announced the athletes selected for the 2026/27 New Zealand Alpine Ski Team. This announcement marks an important step for the country’s winter sports community as athletes prepare for upcoming international competitions and the next major global events.
The selection process focused on identifying skiers who have shown consistent performance and dedication throughout the previous season. The team includes a mix of experienced athletes who have competed on the world stage and promising young talent looking to make their mark in the sport.
Being part of the national team provides these athletes with access to high-level training facilities and professional coaching support. This structure is designed to help New Zealand skiers compete against the best in the world, despite the challenges of training in the Southern Hemisphere.
For the athletes, this selection is the result of years of hard work on the slopes. Many of the team members will now begin their preparation for the Northern Hemisphere winter, where they will participate in various FIS-sanctioned races to improve their world rankings.
Snow Sports NZ expressed confidence in the new squad, noting that the depth of talent in the country continues to grow. Fans and supporters across New Zealand will be watching closely as these athletes represent the nation on the international circuit over the coming months.
