Global Tensions Fuel Price Hikes as Germany Calls for Urgent Ceasefire

German Chancellor فريدريش ميرتس has stated that ending the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran is the only effective way to control rapidly rising oil prices, as global energy markets continue to face intense pressure.

Speaking in Berlin during a parliamentary session, ميرتس stressed that the government cannot fully shield citizens from increasing costs through tax reductions or federal spending. He warned that public finances have limits when dealing with such global price shocks.

He reiterated that stopping the war in Iran is the most direct path to stabilizing energy prices. According to ميرتس, the German government is using all available diplomatic channels to push for a swift resolution to the conflict.

ميرتس also revealed that he has raised concerns about the economic risks of the war in recent conversations with US President دونالد ترامب. He highlighted that the ongoing conflict poses serious threats to global stability and economic growth.

Germany is working closely with partners across the European Union, as well as countries like the United Kingdom and Norway, to encourage diplomatic efforts. ميرتس emphasized that Berlin is actively trying to persuade both the United States and Israel to seek a peaceful solution.

However, he acknowledged that progress depends on cooperation from all parties involved, including Iran. At present, he noted, there are few indications that such willingness to compromise exists, making a resolution more difficult in the short term.
