New collaboration aims to get more girls interested in technology
The organization Girl Tech Norway has entered into a new collaboration with the trade union Tekna. The goal of the partnership is to give more girls in the 5th grade the opportunity to learn about technology and science through practical activities.
Today, there is still a gender imbalance in the technology industry. By starting with education and practical experience early, the initiators hope to create more interest in these subjects among young girls.
The collaboration entails that the girls will participate in courses and workshops. Here, they will work on concrete tasks that make it easier to understand how technology functions in everyday life.
Tekna and Girl Tech Norway believe that practical learning is the key to inspiring the next generation. By showing that technology is creative and useful, they want to remove barriers that often prevent girls from choosing technological studies later in life.
The project is an important contribution to ensuring more diversity in Norwegian working life in the future. By focusing on children in primary school, they are laying a good foundation for more girls to see the opportunities that exist within science and technology.
