Chinese cars are taking a larger share of the Norwegian market
Norway stands out in Europe when it comes to new car sales. New figures show that Chinese car brands now account for a significant portion of new car sales in Norway, placing the country at the very forefront compared to other European nations.
In the month of June, a full 16 percent of all new cars registered in Norway were produced by Chinese companies. This is a marked difference from the rest of the continent, where the trend is developing more slowly. By comparison, countries like Germany and France are at 4 and 5 percent, respectively.
Experts point out that Norway has been a pioneer for electric vehicles for many years. Because many Chinese manufacturers are heavily focused on electric vehicles specifically, they have found a natural and mature market among Norwegian consumers.
The rapid growth of Chinese brands in Norway demonstrates how the global automotive market is changing. While European countries are still in an early phase of adopting these cars, Norwegian car buyers have already largely integrated them into their everyday lives.
