Russian ambassador warns Norway about NATO cooperation
The Russian ambassador to Norway, Nikolay Korchunov, has issued a clear warning to Norwegian authorities. He believes that Norway is now serving as an important starting point for NATO's military operations directed against Russia.
Korchunov claims that the increased activity and close cooperation with NATO create a serious risk to security in the northern regions. According to the ambassador, this development is leading to increased tension between the two neighboring countries.
Norwegian authorities have repeatedly emphasized that NATO membership is defensive. The goal of exercises and presence in the north is to ensure stability and security for Norway and allied countries, not to provoke Russia.
The situation in the northern regions is now being closely monitored by both politicians and experts. There is significant attention focused on how the relationship between Norway and Russia will develop in the time ahead, especially in light of the changed security policy situation in Europe.
