Government Pension Fund Global retains its US investments
Norway's largest fund, the Government Pension Fund Global, has no plans to sell its assets in the USA. This was confirmed by the Minister of Finance in a recent statement. The fund, often referred to as the Oil Fund, is the world's largest sovereign wealth fund and manages enormous assets on behalf of the Norwegian people.
The fund has invested large sums in the American market over many years. Despite uncertainty in the global economy and changes in the political landscape, the authorities emphasize that the investment strategy remains the same. This means that the fund will continue to own shares in many large American companies.
The decision to keep the assets in the USA is important for the Norwegian economy. The Oil Fund is built up from revenues from oil and gas activities on the Norwegian continental shelf, and the returns from these investments help to finance the welfare state. By staying the course, the fund demonstrates that it has long-term goals for the management of the money.
There are currently no signs that the fund will change its geographical distribution of investments in the near future. The Ministry of Finance is monitoring the situation closely, but the current strategy is considered safe and predictable for Norway.
