Norwegian companies losing tender competitions to Denmark
New figures show that Danish suppliers are winning far more European tenders than Norwegian companies. Analyses from the company Cobrief indicate that Danish firms have more than twice as many winning entries in the EU market compared to their Norwegian competitors.
Experts believe the reason for this gap is that many Norwegian companies do not look for opportunities outside the country's borders to a sufficient degree. While Danish companies are active throughout Europe, Norwegian players often focus primarily on the domestic market.
The European tender market offers great opportunities for companies that wish to grow. By participating in tenders in other countries, Norwegian companies can secure new contracts and strengthen their competitiveness internationally. Nevertheless, it seems that the threshold for participating in these processes is perceived as high for many Norwegian businesses.
To reverse this trend, Norwegian companies are encouraged to become more offensive in their search for assignments abroad. Increased participation in European tenders can contribute to more diversity in the business sector and ensure that Norwegian solutions become more visible on the international market.
