Digital competence among healthcare personnel varies greatly
Digital technology has become a central part of the Norwegian healthcare system. Today, healthcare personnel use digital tools for everything from documenting patient records to communicating with colleagues and patients. This is changing how services are performed in everyday work.
However, a new survey shows that there are major differences in how proficient employees are at using this technology. The digital competence of healthcare personnel varies significantly based on factors such as age, experience, and how much they actually use digital systems in their jobs.
In addition, the workplace plays an important role in employees' skills. The results suggest that organizational support is crucial for healthcare personnel to master digital tools. Employees who receive good training and follow-up in the workplace feel more confident when faced with new technological solutions.
For health and social services to function effectively, it is important that all employees possess the necessary competence. Development is moving fast, and there is therefore a continuous need for a focus on digital training throughout the health sector to ensure high-quality patient care.
