New collaboration to inspire girls to choose technology
The organization Girl Tech Norway has entered into a new collaboration with the trade union Tekna. The goal of the partnership is to give more girls in the 5th grade the opportunity to learn about technology and science through practical tasks.
Today, there is a shortage of women in the technology industry in Norway. By starting early in elementary school, the organizations hope to spark an interest in subjects such as coding, mathematics, and natural sciences among young girls.
The project will offer courses and activities where girls can explore technology in a creative way. Through hands-on learning, they want to show that technology is an exciting field that is suitable for everyone, regardless of gender.
The collaboration between Girl Tech Norway and Tekna is an important step toward ensuring a better gender balance in the future workforce. By giving girls a sense of achievement and knowledge early on, the hope is that more will choose technological education when they get older.
