Astana climbs the list of the world's most important financial centers
Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, has achieved a significant improvement in the international Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI) ranking. The city has climbed eight places and is now ranked 57th out of a total of 117 financial centers in the world.
This index assesses the attractiveness of cities for financial services, based on factors such as infrastructure, access to capital, and the business environment. With this new ranking, Astana consolidates its position as the most important financial hub in its region.
Although Astana is far from Norway, international investors follow such rankings closely. For Norwegian companies operating in Central Asia, a more stable and recognized financial sector in the region can make it easier to conduct business and investments.
The ranking is updated regularly to provide a picture of how the world's economic centers of gravity are shifting. The fact that Astana is now climbing the list shows that the city is investing heavily in attracting both national and international capital in the years to come.
