Norway and Ukraine sign new defense cooperation agreement
Norway and Ukraine have signed a new defense agreement intended to strengthen military cooperation between the two countries. The agreement was signed in Oslo on April 14 and marks a closer bond during a time characterized by great uncertainty in Europe.
The most important point in the new declaration is expanded cooperation on the production of drones. Drone technology has proven to be absolutely crucial in the ongoing war in Ukraine, and Norway now wishes to contribute more directly to the development of this equipment.
The cooperation entails that the countries will share knowledge and resources to produce drones more efficiently. This is part of the Norwegian support for Ukraine, which already includes economic assistance, humanitarian aid, and deliveries of military equipment.
The government emphasizes that this agreement is an important step in supporting Ukraine's defense capability over time. By focusing on joint production, both countries hope to ensure a more stable access to necessary technology in the months and years to come.
This agreement shows that Norway continues to play an active role in the international support for Ukraine. The cooperation on drones is a concrete example of how Norwegian industry and technology can contribute to strengthening Ukraine's defense in a demanding situation.
