Altinget Digital shuts down its technology initiative
The website Altinget Digital has announced that it is ceasing operations. Since its inception, the goal of the initiative has been to shed light on how technology and politics are interconnected, and how technological choices exert power in society.
The editorial team behind Altinget Digital explains that they wanted to show that technology is not just about tools, but about political influence. Through their coverage, they have sought to highlight how digital solutions affect decision-making processes and power dynamics in Norway.
The decision to shut down comes at the end of a period during which the website has closely followed the intersection between technological development and political framework conditions. The staff emphasizes that the link between technology and power remains an important topic, even though their specific channel is now turning off the lights.
It is not yet known what will happen to the content that has already been published, or how the coverage of technology policy will be handled in the future. Altinget Digital thanks its readers for their company and, with this, marks the end of a chapter in Norwegian political journalism.
