Mohamed Salah to miss the Africa Cup of Nations
Egyptian star player Mohamed Salah will miss the remainder of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). This is major news for many football fans in Norway, especially for the many supporters of Liverpool FC.
Salah sustained an injury during the group stage of the tournament. After examinations, it became clear that the injury is more serious than initially thought. He is now traveling back to England to receive treatment from Liverpool's medical staff.
The Egyptian national team must therefore manage without their biggest star in the upcoming matches. This is a significant loss for the team, which had hoped to win the championship with Salah at the helm.
For Liverpool FC, the news means they will have their top scorer back sooner than expected. The club hopes he will recover quickly so that he can contribute to the fight for the Premier League title later in the season.
It is currently uncertain exactly how long Salah will be sidelined from the football pitch. Supporters in Norway and the rest of the world are now eagerly following updates on the player's health.
