New collaboration to inspire girls to choose technology
The organization Girl Tech Norway has entered into a new collaboration with the trade union Tekna. The goal of the partnership is to give more girls in the 5th grade the opportunity to explore science and technology through practical tasks.
Today, there is still a gender imbalance in the technology industry. By offering learning early in the school curriculum, the organizations hope to spark an interest in technology among young girls before they reach middle school.
The project focuses on allowing students to try their hand at practical challenges. Through play and experimentation, the girls will learn how technology works in everyday life, which can make the subjects more understandable and exciting.
The collaboration between Girl Tech Norway and Tekna is an important measure to ensure better recruitment to technical professions in the future. By giving girls a sense of mastery early on, they aim to build self-confidence and curiosity around the sciences.
