New partnership aims to get more girls to choose technology subjects
Tekna has entered into a new partnership with the organization Girl Tech Norway. The goal of the project is to increase interest in science and technology among young girls in Norway.
For many years, there has been a gender imbalance in technological education. Current figures show that fewer than one in three students in these fields are women. This is a challenge that the industry wants to address to ensure better diversity in the future.
The partnership will work to inspire more girls to see the opportunities that exist within technology. By offering learning arenas and positive role models, the organizations hope that the threshold for choosing technical subjects will be lower for young girls.
It is important for the Norwegian labor market that more people choose education in science and technology. Increased recruitment of women will contribute to more innovation and new perspectives in the technology industry in the years to come.
