Singaporean company has purchased property in Andøy
A company from Singapore has recently purchased a residence in Bjørnskinn in the municipality of Andøy. The property, located at Bjørnskinnveien 644, was sold for 1.66 million kroner.
The company behind the purchase operates within the production of krill oil. Krill oil is a product often used in dietary supplements due to its high content of omega-3 fatty acids.
It is currently unknown what the company plans to use the house for in the future. The purchase in Nordland has nevertheless caused a stir locally, as it is unusual for international companies to invest in residential properties in small locations.
Andøy municipality is otherwise known for its focus on fisheries and aquaculture, which may be an explanation for the interest from a company in this industry. It remains to be seen whether the acquisition will lead to local activity or new jobs in the area.
