New collaboration to inspire girls to choose technology
The organization Girl Tech Norway has entered into a new collaboration with the trade union Tekna. The goal of the partnership is to give more girls in the 5th grade the opportunity to learn about technology and STEM subjects through practical activities.
Today, there is still a gender imbalance in many technological professions. By starting early, the organizations hope to spark an interest in coding and science among young girls before they begin middle school.
Through this collaboration, students will get to explore technology in a way that is both educational and engaging. The goal is to show that STEM subjects are exciting, and that technology is a field where everyone can succeed regardless of gender.
The initiative is part of a larger effort to increase recruitment to technical fields in Norway. By offering practical experience early in the school curriculum, Girl Tech and Tekna aim to build confidence and curiosity in the girls who participate.
