Norwegian seafood exports set new records this summer
Norwegian seafood exports have seen a very strong performance this summer. New figures show that the export value rose by 13 percent in July 2026, meaning that Norway exported seafood for a total of 15.6 billion kroner during the month.
The main reason for the strong growth is record-high figures for salmon exports. Both increased salmon prices and a larger volume have contributed to the export value reaching a historically high level for this time of year.
In addition to the increased salmon exports, the seafood industry is seeing positive developments in several markets. Exports to China, in particular, have increased significantly recently, which is helping to strengthen Norway's position as a leading seafood nation in the world.
These figures show that the demand for Norwegian seafood remains high internationally. The strong export performance is important for the Norwegian economy and contributes to jobs along the entire coast of Norway.
