Norwegian companies choose cheaper IT equipment over efficiency
New figures show that many Norwegian businesses prioritize low costs when purchasing new IT equipment. A recent survey reveals that almost two out of three companies have opted against better technological solutions because the price was too high.
The survey points out that financial considerations weigh more heavily than technical performance for most Norwegian managers. A full 95 percent of the surveyed businesses state that they do not prioritize efficiency to the same extent as price when making their purchases.
Experts are concerned that this could have consequences for productivity in the long run. Although cheaper equipment saves money here and now, it can lead to employees having to spend more time on technical problems or slow systems in their everyday work.
It is a challenging balancing act for many companies in today's economic climate. With rising prices and uncertain times, many choose to cut where they can, but these choices may ultimately affect how well the companies actually function.
It remains to be seen whether Norwegian companies will change their strategy if they see that a lack of investment in good technology leads to lower profitability over time.
