Telenor acquires GlobalConnect's fiber customers
Telenor has entered into an agreement to acquire the Norwegian private customer business of the company GlobalConnect. The acquisition means that Telenor will take over all the fiber customers that GlobalConnect currently has in the Norwegian private market.
GlobalConnect has long been an important player in fiber expansion in Norway. Now, the company has received approval to sell this part of its business. The sale means that customers who currently use GlobalConnect for home internet will be transferred to Telenor in the time ahead.
For Telenor, the agreement means they are strengthening their position as one of the largest broadband providers in Norway. The company states that they will work for a smooth transition for the customers affected by the change.
There are currently no details regarding exactly when customers will notice the change in practice. The affected customers will receive more information directly from the companies in the near future.
