New Metroid game announced for Nintendo Switch 2
Nintendo has officially confirmed that a new game in the popular Metroid series is in development. The game has been titled "Metroid Ravenous" and is scheduled for release in early 2027.
The new game is being developed by the Spanish studio MercurySteam, which has previously been behind successes such as Metroid Dread. The game is categorized as an action-adventure title and is designed exclusively for Nintendo's upcoming console, the Nintendo Switch 2.
According to the information released so far, "Metroid Ravenous" is developed as a single-player experience. This means that players must navigate through challenging worlds and fight enemies on their own, just as fans are accustomed to from previous titles in the series.
The official launch date is set for January 28, 2027. For many gaming enthusiasts in Norway, this is long-awaited news, as it marks one of the first major titles confirmed for the new console generation from Nintendo.
