The FPÖ party questions the president about the costs of his hairstyling.
The Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ) conducted a series of parliamentary inquiries aimed at uncovering new cases of waste of taxpayers' money, where the party's secretary general, Michael Schnedlitz, asked all ministries how many times ministers have used beauty services such as beauticians or hairdressers since taking office until now.
This question provoked laughter in the case of advisor Christian Stoecker, due to his noticeable lack of hair, and he responded by saying that "none of the mentioned services were utilized during the period in question."
But Mikhail Shneidlets found some government members who did not hesitate to improve their appearance at the expense of the state. Deputy Chancellor and leader of the Social Democratic Party (SPÖ) Andreas Babler stated that both he and State Minister Michaela Schmid used these services, noting that the bills have not yet been paid.
As mentioned by Education Minister Christoph Wiederkehr (from the NEOS party), he hired a beautician for a press conference on "the ban on mobile phones in schools" from March 3 to April 25, 2025, and the costs of this service have not yet been billed.
As for the other ministers, they confirmed that they pay for beauty and personal care expenses from their own money, as expected.
