The police dismantle a major drug network in Austria

After intensive investigations that lasted for months, the police in Austria managed to dismantle a drug trafficking network operating in the states of Niederösterreich (Lower Austria), Steiermark (Styria), and Burgenland.

The security operation, led by the drug investigation team of the Neunkirchen police department, resulted in the arrest of five individuals and the seizure of drugs valued at approximately 380,000 euros in the market.

Investigations began against unknown perpetrators, before the police identified three suspects: a 27-year-old man from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld area, and two from the Neunkirchen area aged 28 and 37. They are suspected of managing a trade involving cannabis, XTC (ecstasy) pills, and cocaine.

On February 19, 2025, three raids were carried out in both Niederösterreich and Steiermark under orders from the public prosecutor's office in Wiener Neustadt, in cooperation with special police units and police dogs. During these raids, three individuals were arrested in their homes, and an estimated 330 grams of cannabis and 8 grams of cocaine were seized.

Later, two more suspects from Neunkirchen, aged between 23 and 33, were identified, one of whom is suspected of dealing cocaine and the other of cannabis. The police carried out new raids on March 21 and April 5, 2025, where 200 grams of cannabis were seized.

Thanks to thorough investigations and the questioning of 28 drug customers, the police were able to document the sale of about 20 kilograms of cannabis worth 200,000 euros, 500 XTC pills worth 4,000 euros, and 2.25 kilograms of cocaine worth approximately 180,000 euros. Three of the suspects confessed during the investigations, while the other two remained silent. Everyone was transferred to Wiener Neustadt prison, and the buyers will also be presented to the competent public prosecutor's office.
