The Technische Universität Wien (Vienna University of Technology) experienced a major emergency on Thursday morning after receiving a bomb threat. The police discovered a suspicious object inside one of the university buildings, prompting them to evacuate the entire building and close the nearby Karlsplatz area.
Specialized units in explosives, along with trained police dogs, have searched the building for any hazardous materials. A spokesperson for the Vienna police confirmed that inspections are still ongoing. The police urged citizens via Facebook to stay away from the area for their safety.
