Pakistan changes travel rules for dual nationals
The government of Pakistan has introduced significant changes to travel regulations for overseas Pakistanis. Under these new rules, dual-national Pakistani citizens will no longer be able to enter Pakistan using an expired National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).
Authorities state that this decision has been made to further improve the immigration system and to tighten the scrutiny of travel documents. It is now mandatory for all passengers to renew their identity cards before traveling to avoid any inconvenience at airports.
This new policy will apply to all Pakistanis residing abroad who intend to travel to Pakistan. Relevant institutions have directed passengers to check the expiration dates of their documents in a timely manner to avoid any obstacles during their journey.
The government has appealed to overseas Pakistanis to strictly comply with these new rules. The purpose of this initiative is to keep the documents of individuals entering the country modern and accurate, in order to make the immigration process more transparent.
