Need for a Modern Storage Network for Food Security in Pakistan
The establishment of warehouses (silos) equipped with modern technology has become a critical need of the hour to ensure food security in Pakistan. Officials state that having a modern system to store grain in the country is indispensable in order to prevent crop wastage.
Saif-ur-Rehman has put forward an important proposal in this regard, under which a network of high-tech silos will be established across the country. These modern warehouses will be equipped with automated systems to control temperature and humidity, which will prevent grain from spoiling over long periods.
Another notable feature of this project is the modern fumigation and automated monitoring system. This technology will protect grain from pests and other climatic effects, which will not only improve the quality of food but also reduce concerns regarding food shortages at the national level.
Experts believe that such modern infrastructure will allow farmers to receive better compensation for their crops and will help in controlling issues related to hoarding. This initiative will play a key role in stabilizing Pakistan's agricultural economy and ensuring the supply of affordable and quality food to the public.
