Tensions rise in Pakistan-Afghanistan border regions
Border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have escalated after Pakistani fighter jets allegedly targeted militant hideouts in the eastern regions of Afghanistan on Monday. This operation was carried out in the context of growing security-related friction between the two countries.
According to Pakistani officials, 28 militants have been killed in the airstrikes. Officials state that these attacks were conducted to eliminate hideouts that were allegedly providing support to militants active in Pakistan.
On the other hand, Afghan officials in Kabul have responded to these claims, stating that 3 civilians were also killed as a result of the Pakistani airstrikes. The Afghan government has condemned this action and termed it a violation of its sovereignty.
Following this incident, fears are being expressed that diplomatic and border relations between the two countries may face further strain. The international community and countries in the region are keeping a close watch on the situation to ensure the restoration of peace and order at the border.
